Miracle on the Fountain Star - A Symbol Story

Once upon a long long time, many galaxies away from here there was a star and this star was not yet very special.

It was actually quite ugly to be honest, dry and arid and nothing was growing on it. A bunch of strange looking but

rather joyous people were living there - How? one wouldn't know - there was nothing really.

One day, at five o'clock in the morning a small boy saw something new. He saw a drop. Yes,  a drop of water.

You cannot imagine that someone wouldn't know a water drop, because you do, but they didn't, not one of them.

"Mamiiii! Papiiii!" he was screaming "Come and look - there is something as glittering as a star in the sky and it is

on a stone!" And all the people who heard him screaming came running towards him to see something new.

Oh - it was so beautiful - the starlight shining and sparkling in the little drop like a diamond - and the most wondrous

thing - the drop was growing and growing and becoming big like an apple cut in two. And suddenly it burst and jumped

two meters high into the air and a fountain had formed. How could that happen? Well, I don't know more than you and

nobody did, but miracles can happen and do happen all the time.

The people felt enchanted of course and during the days and nights to come they were gathering around the fountain

admiring its sparkling dance of ever changing shapes. From time to time the water sprayed on their skin and it felt fresh

and strange and delightful.

A few months later, if you would have been there, you could have seen these liquid beams all over the place. The people had

found out how to reach the deep waters of the star and soon had built thousands of fountains to never miss out the miracle of

shining drops any more.

And all this sparkling light together with the water created a condition which resembled the atmosphere of the earth. Plants began

to grow. Sparsely at first but then, more and bigger, most amazing plants and trees could be seen and the inhabitants of the newly

named "Fountain Star" were in awe.

They had created this wonder, they admitted to themselves, inspired by a small sparkle in a drop of water. The arid dry

world which had been their environment for hundreds of thousands of years had transformed into a lush and colorful

Garden of Eden, where children could climb in the trees, swim in the waters, play within the outburst of nature.

And what did the adults do? Did they get bored with the perfection around them? Did they do whatever they could

to transform the beautiful Fountain Star in an arid soil of waste again? Did they forget about their joyous, happy children?

Did they start hating each other for no reason what so ever?

Well -

Of course - not.

They are building the most amazing huts and houses and are growing healthy crops and markets. They are inviting

each other to taste their newly invented dishes or train for becoming synchronized swimmers.  And when they don't

work in these most delightful ways you can watch them hand in hand on amorous walks through the sparkle of the stars and fountains.

And if tonight the sky is very clear you might see on the right hand side of your sleeping room window a tiny little misty spot far away in the sky.
That is the Fountain Star.
